What is Contemporary Dance?
Contemporary dance (also known as Lyrical) blends elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance to create fluid, expressive movement.
In our classes at Freedom, dancers learn to connect emotion with motion, exploring creativity through floor work, dynamic transitions, and storytelling. It’s a powerful style that encourages freedom, artistry, and individuality.
Who is this class for?
Our Contemporary dance classes are open to anyone who wants to learn how to dance – whether you are brand new or have years of experience. Our beginner class is for ages 7-12, and the intermediate-advanced classes are for ages 13+ up to adults. It doesn’t matter if you have never danced before, all are welcome to join in! We understand that dancers may be at different levels for their age, so if you have any questions about which class level is right for you, don’t hesitate to ask us for advice.
When are the classes?
- Beginner (ages 7-12) – Mondays at 5.30pm
- Intermediate-Advanced (age 13+) – Mondays at 8.30pm

How much does it cost?

- Monthly Membership – Included in membership
How to book
- Download the StudioBookings app from your App Store, once downloaded, search for Freedom Studios.
- Create a new account in the dancer’s details, sign the waiver and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Go to the Class Schedule, click Book Now on the class you want to attend and purchase a class credit using your card details. You can also sign up for the monthly subscription membership to get access to unlimited classes!
